How the Mid Cap Stocks screen works

A stock is listed when it is an NSE-listed equity share and meets every condition below:

  • Market cap between ₹5,000 Cr and ₹20,000 Cr

Results are sorted by market cap, largest first. Mid caps sit between established leaders and smaller growth companies, which is why many investors use them for a balance of growth and stability.

Mid Cap Stocks: common questions

How is a mid cap stock defined here?
This screen uses a market cap between ₹5,000 Cr and ₹20,000 Cr. SEBI classifies stocks by market-cap rank, not by a rupee figure: the top 100 companies are large caps, ranks 101 to 250 are mid caps and rank 251 onwards are small caps. AMFI publishes the list every six months. Rupee cut-offs for SEBI's rank bands move with the market, so a fixed range and the official list drift apart over time.
How current are the financial figures?
Ratios built from results, such as growth, ROE, ROCE and margins, update as companies file their quarterly results. Price-based ratios such as P/E and P/B move with the share price every trading day, so a stock can enter or leave the screen between results.
Is every stock on this list a good investment?
No. A screen narrows thousands of listed companies down to those that meet a set of numeric conditions. It does not look at management, valuation history, sector outlook or news, so treat the list as a starting point for research.
