How the Dark Cloud Cover Stocks screen works
A stock is listed when it is an NSE-listed equity share and meets every condition below:
- Dark Cloud Cover pattern flagged on the latest daily candle
- Volume of at least 10,000 shares
- Market cap of ₹100 Cr or more
Results are sorted by today's % change, lowest first. It is a two-candle bearish reversal pattern, weaker than an engulfing candle but read the same way.
Dark Cloud Cover Stocks: common questions
What does a dark cloud cover pattern look like?
In its textbook form, a red candle opening above the prior high and closing below the middle of the prior green body. It matters most after an advance.
When is a candlestick pattern confirmed?
Patterns are read from the daily candle, which is only final at the 3:30 pm IST close. A pattern flagged mid-session can disappear if the price moves before the close.
Are candlestick patterns reliable on their own?
They describe one or a few sessions of trading and work best alongside the trend they appear in and the volume behind them. Many traders wait for the next session to confirm the pattern before acting on it.
