How the Piercing Stocks screen works

A stock is listed when it is an NSE-listed equity share and meets every condition below:

  • Piercing pattern flagged on the latest daily candle
  • Volume of at least 10,000 shares
  • Market cap of ₹100 Cr or more

Results are sorted by today's % change, highest first. It is the bullish mirror of dark cloud cover, a two-candle reversal after a decline.

Piercing Stocks: common questions

What does a piercing pattern look like?
In its textbook form, a green candle opening below the prior low and closing above the middle of the prior red body. It matters most after a decline.
When is a candlestick pattern confirmed?
Patterns are read from the daily candle, which is only final at the 3:30 pm IST close. A pattern flagged mid-session can disappear if the price moves before the close.
Are candlestick patterns reliable on their own?
They describe one or a few sessions of trading and work best alongside the trend they appear in and the volume behind them. Many traders wait for the next session to confirm the pattern before acting on it.
