What is good about Tapetide?

  • Core research is free. Stock pages, the screener and FII/DII data need no sign-in or card.
  • Numbers show their dates. Stock pages state when prices and fundamentals were observed.
  • Open score method. The Tapetide Score's pillars and weights are published, and the full specification is on GitHub.
  • Institutional flows in one place. The FII/DII page shows daily cash flows and streaks, and a fortnightly FPI sector report covers all 24 sectors.
  • AI clients get real data. The MCP server works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and more.
  • Machine-readable. Every stock page has a Markdown twin, and one API token works for both REST and MCP.

What are Tapetide's limitations?

  • No mobile app. Use the website in a mobile browser.
  • No trading. You cannot place orders, and it does not read broker accounts; portfolio tools track holdings you enter.
  • No live tick feed. Prices are the latest available quote; option chains are end-of-day snapshots for 4 indices.
  • No price alerts or backtesting engine. Account alerts cover corporate actions, filings, news and a daily summary for your stocks, not price triggers.
  • AI caps below Enterprise. Free allows 10 TapeAi questions a day (50 a month), and the largest self-serve plan, Pro+, allows 1,500 a month. Only Enterprise is unlimited.
  • No refunds. Use the 7-day trial to decide.
  • India only. NSE and BSE equities; no US stocks.
  • Younger platform. Fewer independent reviews than older Indian research sites.
  • Not advice. Tapetide is not SEBI-registered and gives no buy or sell calls.

Who is Tapetide for?

  • Long-term investors who read financials and shareholding before buying.
  • Investors who prefer asking a question to building a screen.
  • Anyone who tracks FII and DII flows daily.
  • Developers who need Indian fundamentals and prices in an API.
  • Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor users who want NSE and BSE data in their assistant.

Who is Tapetide not for?

  • Intraday traders who need tick-by-tick data or order placement.
  • Investors who want ready-made buy or sell recommendations.
  • Anyone who needs a native mobile app or price alerts.
  • Investors in US or global stocks.
