Connect OpenCode to the Indian stock market

Add the Tapetide MCP server to OpenCode and ask about NSE and BSE stocks in plain language. Company research, a 326-ratio screener, FII/DII flows, options and filings, all from the assistant you already use.

Start setup Google sign-in, no token to manage

SETUP

3 steps, about three minutes

Add a remote MCP server to OpenCode.

  1. Merge the configuration below into opencode.json, or use opencode mcp add and choose Remote.

    opencode.json
    {
      "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
      "mcp": {
        "tapetide": {
          "type": "remote",
          "url": "https://mcp.tapetide.com/mcp",
          "enabled": true
        }
      }
    }
  2. Authenticate Tapetide in OpenCode’s MCP controls and complete Google sign-in.

  3. Ask OpenCode a first question to confirm the connection.

    “Use Tapetide to show Reliance’s latest price and when it was updated.”

    You should get a price with a timestamp. If not, see the questions below.

QUESTIONS

Before you connect

Does OpenCode need an API token for Tapetide?
No. OpenCode connects to the Tapetide MCP server over OAuth, so you sign in with Google when the browser opens. A personal token is only needed for clients that cannot open a browser.
What can I ask OpenCode once Tapetide is connected?
Anything about the roughly 8,200 NSE and BSE stocks: compare companies on financials and ratios, screen with 326 fundamental filters or live technical indicators, pull FII/DII flows, inspect option chains and read parsed filings. One question may call several tools.
Is Tapetide an NSE MCP server?
Yes. Tapetide works as an NSE MCP server and a BSE MCP server through one connection. It covers around 8,200 companies listed on either exchange, including small caps and SME listings, plus NSE indices such as Nifty 50 and Bank Nifty. Search by company name, symbol, BSE code or ISIN.
Is the data real time?
Not as a live trading feed; freshness depends on the dataset. Quotes reflect the latest available prices; financials and ownership data follow their reporting periods. Index option chains are end-of-day snapshots. Ask your assistant to include the observation date or reporting period, especially when comparing datasets.
