How the Golden Cross Stocks screen works
A stock is listed when it is an NSE-listed equity share and meets every condition below:
- 50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA on the current candle
- 50-day SMA was at or below the 200-day SMA on the previous candle
- Volume of at least 10,000 shares
- Market cap of ₹500 Cr or more
Results are sorted by today's % change, highest first. A golden cross is the classic long-term bullish signal. Requiring the cross on the latest candle keeps only fresh signals, so the list is short on most days.
Golden Cross Stocks: common questions
Why are there so few golden cross stocks on some days?
The screen only lists stocks where the cross happened on the latest candle. Stocks that crossed last week are already past the signal and drop off, so a short or empty list is normal.
Which timeframe are the indicators calculated on?
Daily candles. During market hours the current candle is still forming, so an indicator value and the signal built on it can change before the close. A signal is settled once the session closes at 3:30 pm IST.
Is every stock on this list a good investment?
No. A screen narrows thousands of listed companies down to those that meet a set of numeric conditions. It does not look at management, valuation history, sector outlook or news, so treat the list as a starting point for research.
