You ask a question in your own words, and your assistant uses the relevant tools to look up companies, financials, prices, market activity and more. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the standard that makes this connection possible. ### How do I connect Claude to Indian stock market data? In Claude.ai, open Settings, then Connectors, add a custom connector named Tapetide with the URL https://mcp.tapetide.com/mcp and sign in with Google. Claude Desktop uses the local helper and Claude Code takes a one-line command; each has its own setup guide on this site. ### Does it work with ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients? Yes. Claude resets those saved permissions whenever a connector's tool list changes, so expect one round of re-approval after a Tapetide catalog update. Prompts that return without a catalog update are Claude-side behaviour, not a setting in your Tapetide account. ### Is the data real time? Not as a live trading feed; freshness depends on the dataset. Quotes reflect the latest available prices; financials and ownership data follow their reporting periods. Index option chains are end-of-day snapshots. Ask your assistant to include the observation date or reporting period, especially when comparing datasets. ### Can it access my portfolio and watchlist? Once you connect your Tapetide account, your assistant can read your saved holdings and watchlist. It can also add, update or remove entries when you ask. These changes affect your Tapetide research records. They do not place orders in a brokerage account. ### Can I use it for historical research? Yes. Tools cover historical prices, corporate-action adjustments, financial reporting dates, historical identifiers and index membership on a given date.
