Mutual funds disclose month-end portfolios within about ten days of month end, so this is the May 2026 disclosure, not today's trading. In the May 2026 portfolios (as of 31 May 2026), mutual funds added the most, by value, to ICICI Bank (₹4,814 Cr, 216 schemes added), Gujarat Gas (₹4,082 Cr, 53 schemes added) and HDFC Bank (₹3,593 Cr, 200 schemes added). The largest net reductions were in Infosys, Wipro and Vedanta. Across the 1,285 stocks the 1,040 compared schemes held at either month end, holdings rose in 695, fell in 466 and were unchanged in 124, against April 2026. Shares added were worth ₹92,833 Cr and shares cut ₹43,671 Cr at the 29 May 2026 close, a net +₹49,162 Cr. Values cover the 1,269 of 1,285 stocks with a closing price that day. 6 stocks were held by none of the compared schemes at the end of April 2026 and by at least one at the end of May 2026; 8 went the other way. A stock is counted as bought when that total rose, sold when it fell and unchanged when it did not move. Listed shares, REITs and InvITs are included; ETF and fund units are not. - Value change is the net change in shares times the closing price on 29 May 2026, so a price move alone never counts as buying or selling. - Splits and bonuses between the two month ends are taken out of the share counts, so a split never reads as buying.
