Portfolios as of 30 Apr 2026, compared with 31 Mar 2026. Mutual funds disclose month-end portfolios within about ten days of month end, so this is the April 2026 disclosure, not today's trading.

In the April 2026 portfolios (as of 30 Apr 2026), mutual funds added the most, by value, to ICICI Bank (₹7,863 Cr, 223 schemes added), SBI (₹2,846 Cr, 225 schemes added) and Eternal (₹2,559 Cr, 214 schemes added). The largest net reductions were in Wipro, NTPC and Bajaj Auto. Across the 1,287 stocks the 1,034 compared schemes held at either month end, holdings rose in 664, fell in 533 and were unchanged in 90, against March 2026.

Shares added were worth ₹68,563 Cr and shares cut ₹42,736 Cr at the 30 Apr 2026 close, a net +₹25,826 Cr. Values cover the 1,268 of 1,287 stocks with a closing price that day.

11 stocks were held by none of the compared schemes at the end of March 2026 and by at least one at the end of April 2026; 8 went the other way. New listings and IPO allotments show up as new entries.

Methodology:

- Disclosure month: April 2026. Each fund's portfolio is its holding on 30 Apr 2026, published by the fund within about ten days of month end. It is compared with the 31 Mar 2026 portfolio. Data for this month was complete on our side by 27 Oct 2026.
- Schemes compared: 1,034 of the 1,041 equity-holding schemes that disclosed this month; the other 7 had no March 2026 portfolio on record to compare with, so they are left out rather than counted as buying everything. 39 arbitrage schemes are excluded because their stock positions are hedged with futures and roll every month. One plan per scheme is counted.
- Holdings are summed across the compared schemes for each stock. A stock is counted as bought when that total rose, sold when it fell and unchanged when it did not move. Listed shares, REITs and InvITs are included; ETF and fund units are not.
- Value change is the net change in shares times the closing price on 30 Apr 2026, so a price move alone never counts as buying or selling.
- Splits and bonuses between the two month ends are taken out of the share counts, so a split never reads as buying. When the funds' share counts do not match the filed ratio, the stock is left out (none this month).
- Schemes adding counts schemes that raised their share count, including new positions; schemes cutting counts those that lowered it, including full exits.
